Home Tour: Alivia Fields
An inside look at photographer Alivia Field's timeless Tennessee home.
Q: Tell us about yourself
"I am a mother and photographer currently living in Franklin, Tennesse with my husband and our baby boy. I have a deep rooted passion for interior decor, and making a house feel like a home."
Q: Where do you live and what makes it a home to you?
"Tennessee is where we currently call home, and we are truly in awe of the natural beauty that is held in this part of the country. We never want to leave! What makes a house feel like home to me, is being intentional about making every corner of it a space you and your family love to be in. Every square inch of your home is an opportunity to make it yours, beyond just your furniture or decorations. Get creative and think outside the box. The more you curate your space, the more at home you’ll feel."
Q: How would you describe your personal design style?
"I would describe my personal design style as timeless, with a smidge of all things cozy and rustic."
Shop Alivia's PicksQ: What is your process when designing a space?
"I always start with a color palette! I love to choose pieces that can dance around each other in harmony. Sticking with a palette really can make or break a space feeling cohesive, and I think togetherness is just so important."
Q: What has influenced your design style?
"My design style has been heavily influenced by times passed. Meaning, I love a good antique find and dressing up a space with pieces that have history and a story worth sharing. You won’t find too many new and modern pieces in our home, but I love it that way! The warmer, older, and cozier, the better!"
Shop BeddingQ: What’s your current favorite decor trend and why?
"I absolutely love that folks are starting to stray from all white and bright spaces. Don’t get me wrong, I love a clean, bright, and white space, and I will probably still paint the majority of my walls white! However, I love the recent use of darker tones, wallpaper, and other fun mediums that are creating unique, interesting, and cozier spaces. I definitely have some plans with darker paint this next year to cozy things up...I think that’s my new word of the year! Cozy!"
Q: What’s your favorite room in your home and why?
"Oh I just absolutely love my home office. It’s a simple space. There’s not much going on, but the way the light pours in the bright white space (oops), the trees and nature out it’s many windows — it feels like a breath of fresh air when I’m inside it, and I’ll forever be in love with this little room!"
