There’s no detail too small for this small batch woodshop in Maine. Founded in 2020, this nimble team of nine master craftsmen build impeccable pieces from sheets of domestically-sourced cherry, maple, white oak, and black walnut. There are no titles on the factory floor, but each brings a rich skillset founded in traditional woodworking techniques. Together, they work diligently to create pieces that they believe in, creating furniture of rare quality in the process.
Whether using a chisel or detailed machinery, craft is always in service of quality. Masters of joinery and steam bending, each piece is shaped, smoothed, and assembled to the highest standards. Finished to bring out the natural tone and grain of the wood, it can take days to complete every piece of furniture.
More than all that, this workshop is close to the heart of their community. Once each plank of hardwood has been through the jointers, planers, and table saws, the scraps from their work go towards heating nearby homes during the winter. The sawdust is even turned into bedding for the cows of a local dairy farm, all of whom are very appreciative. Relationships and respect are the foundation of this workshop, informing the way they do business at every step of the process. At the end of the day, each piece is a promise that will stand for a lifetime.
