Let’s start with Afkir. Having grown up learning the art of weaving kilim rugs, she has pretty much mastered this complex craft. But in true entrepreneurial style, she wasn’t satisfied with the status quo and wanted to shake things up a bit.

So Afkir converted her home into a space where weavers in her community can come and work together, combining their efforts to share skills, increase production capacity, and in the end, market their designs. Most of the women in her community had grown up weaving in their homes and never dreamed of selling their pieces on a global stage, so this was a big step for them.

When we heard about this group of go-getting weavers, we jumped at the opportunity to team up. With our partnership, we’re excited to progress their work and bring more of their incredible designs to this world.
