Bolga Tall Basket
A blend of function and beauty, this tall basket is part work of art and part multi-tasker. Each one is made from elephant grass that’s native to Ghana, and the size alone makes it uber luxurious. Style hearthside (and say goodbye to unsightly fireplace tools), or in an entry to help corral umbrellas, bags, and shoes.
Handwoven by a cooperative of artisans in the remote region of Bolgatanga, Ghana, each basket undergoes a meticulous 8-step process that takes up to a day to complete. Exclusively made in a fair trade working environment.
Note: Due to the handwoven nature of these baskets, expect some variation in size, shape, and color.

I like the style of the basket. It’s more yellow than the photo shows, which is unfortunate. And I’d hoped to use it for laundry, but without a liner you can’t because it will snag clothes.

This is a really beautiful basket - photos are true to life. As a handmade piece, it has a lot of character, but I was a little disappointed it didn't hold its shape better. This may not be a big deal to many people - again, that uniqueness is kind of the point of something made by hand - but depending on what you plan to use it for it could make a difference in your decision to purchase. Right now I have two yoga mats and a foam roller in there and it works great due to its height.
