A few of our favorite local haunts…
WHERE TO STAY: La Tangerina Guest Home
La Tangerina is nestled on the highest hill of the Medina of Tangier. If you have an appreciation of architecture and design from the European colonial period, this small boutique hotel has your name written all over it. With only ten rooms, all guests are treated like family and their staff goes above and beyond to meet everyone’s needs.
One of the highlights of our stay here was taking in the sweeping 360-degree view from their rooftop terrace during the daily breakfast and afternoon tea hours.
WHERE TO EAT: El Morocco Club
Don’t miss out on this gem of a dining experience. During the day, the unassuming patio tucked around the corner from La Tangerina serves the most refreshing lunch. It is the perfect place to perch up with a book, sit back and watch all the daily happenings of the old medina.
As the dinner hour approaches, this little neighborhood joints turns into a foodies’ heaven – serving up a fusion of modern Mediterranean and traditional Moroccan cuisine.
